It's been dropping $0.04 a gallon every day or every other day here for a while now ... $2.45 average today.

Its 2.84 now where I am at. However I was in the middle of no where in the upper peninsula MI and saw 2.67! WTF! The majority of the U.P. is the same or lower then where I live, which happens to be close to a large city.

I would guess that the U.P. gets their gas from the central Midwest pipeline, the same one that runs through Iowa and Wisconsin. The lower peninsula may get fuel and shipments from the Galveston pipeline, which has taken forever to get back up to 100% since the last hurricane... you could be paying the higher prices down there because you are competing with the high demand/short supply of the southeastern states at the moment.

$2.37 here this morning on my way to work...

Could be. I figured the western U.P. at least was getting its fuel from somewhere else. Gas continues to fall, but I couldn't believe that it was that cheap in some tiny town. That station was packed!

Some of the little stations here have some really good competitive prices.
