Default Mat663's Project Thread (Pictures of Progress!)

Hey guys, I thought that I would share some pics of my progress with all of you. I haven't been doing this very long because Ionly started less than 6 months ago. So these pics are progress in under half a year.
Ok, Let's start off with the stock pictures.

As you can tell, the paint on the hood is a different color...you will see what i do with that later.

This is my engine....bonestock and mega dirty!!!

This is the carbon fiber hood that I bought from a guy who lived 3 hours from me for only $100!
I mainly got it so it can replace that old weird colored hood i had.

Smile!!! (I know the bumper is dirty, those bug guts aretough to get off, one day i will do some heavy duty cleaning.lol)

This is the day that I forgot to secure the hood pins down, and whil driving on the I-10, the wind blew the hood up into my windsheild and smashed it into pieces. The hood didn't have the hood hook to secure it) I had to spend that weekend scraping off the glass and gaskets in order to get a winshield man to replace it for $145 ($155 with tax) and i also had to get new hood hinges.

After getting all of it off...

Here is when i gave my engine a much needed clean and i had some ground wires and an eBay CAI(which didn't last long)

I bought new BSA 303 17 x 7 rims with 205/40/17. Mainly because those stock 14 inch 185/65/14wheels with hubcaps were ugly.
(I also got new Euro Altezza Tail lights but i forgot to take pics of them out of the box. and i also switched out the SE gauge cluster with the white faced cluster with tach)

At the time, i was just in a hurrry to find someone to mount them, so i went to walmart tires to mount them. Then next thing you know i come to pick them up and the lips on all 4 are scratched, and had minor dents...but it isn't that noticeable from a distance. The recepit i still have from that day is only about 3 days old, maybe i should go back and complain one someday. lol

And this is what my car looks like today.

I got a front top strut bar, painted the engine cover blue, got an eBay SRI with a K&N blue filter, and painted the fuse box cover blue as well.

Yes i am pretty new to the tuning thing. This is the first car that i am modding. These were just cheap minor mods that were in my budget. (I'm poor lol) I didnt do many engine mods except for the exhaust (which mainly is for looks and sound) and the Short Ram Intake. Most of these mods were just for looks. I just don't have much money to spend on name brand things.

So what do you guys think? I want some feedback.

Haha yeh i sure learned my lesson, i will definately secure them from now on.

night709, no i didnt paint them, they came like that color....and it rocks!!!!

KARR....The ebay CAI didnt last long because my own fault, One day i was driving on a rocky road, and i hit a really big and hard bump, and that knocked the filter off the pipe and under my front left wheels and the filter got crushed...So i just got a Short intake instead.

Well, I got them from a guy on eBay....I dont know if he has 4 of them left, but he does have 3 of them left....If you have one of those rims, then get those 3 and you are set!...

This is my buy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...:IT&ih=006

And his 3 rim auction has ended already, but you could email him because i am sure that he still has them lying around. He also has 2 black ones like mines with a chrome lip...but its only 2 so forget it. You could visit the BBSA website...google it dude.

^ the reserve was $150 by the way for those 3.

I tried googling it and this is what i found. i dont know if it will be much help.

Oh really, haha that was a relief, I was getting worried because i went to sleep one night while it was still in auction and i thought i would have waken up to the sight of them being bought by someone already.

spring is almost over dude, i am out of school...that right there is enough to convince me it is summer....lol
