Sup guys? Im new to dodge forum and to owning a neon. I just got my 03 sxt in november of 08, but Im not new to mopars. my first car was a 66 dodge coronet 500 and I still got it, its almost done with the restoration, just need paint and a little interior work. Hopefully I will have pics of it up soon. Anyway, I wanted to know what direction u guys think I should go with this neon, its bone stock. Ive been reading this thread and it seems like you guys really know your stuff about these cars, by the way great work so far dtjackten, with a little time and money that car is going to be sick! So if you guys can maybe let me know some ideas and good places to find parts at a decent price I would apprieciate it.

 

first of all welcome to df... second of all BOOST IT!!!! haha sorry... it all depends on what u want to do with the car? do u want to take out mustang gts, and camero v8s? or do u want a just nice little fuel eccomoy car that gets u from point a to point b... do u want looks? do u want speed? the very first thing i did to my engine besides and intake is a port and polished head... that helped teh car breath alot better... gave me some decent power to.... i put a cam and valves and springs in it while i was at it though.... what do u want the car to be in the long run???

 

plans for the weekend include.... (it is a long list)

want to get the block sanded down and painted
tranny sanded down and painted
oilpan gasket and oil pan installed
clutch installed
tranny mounted to block
and block and tranny mounted back in the car

then it wil be another waiting game for money to come around

 

DEAL!!!! now get working on it... I want to see my reflection in that block!!!!

As DTJ said there are many options that you can go. It is up to you. DTJ is going for speed and smacking some GTO a$$, where there is my route where it all show, and now working on some go. GL on the build and keep us posted on what you do. If you run into any issues we are here to help.

 

DAMN NATE!!!! polished tranny to??? wtf do u think i am a polishing king>??? just remember i do have it in writing that u will fly all the way to ny every week when it starts to be show season, also might as well just ship ur car up here and we can go to shows together because that is the only way u are going to get to show ur car... lol
