so my mom has worked at dodge/daimler-chrysler for 20 years or something. im definetely going to ask her about this truck you heard about, as well as asking her if the original plans for the srt in 02 was a supercharged 2.0L. will definetely get back to you guys, i would like to know myself. as for the new challengers, theyre awesome. havent drove one yet. heard they're supposed to have a 6spd m/t available for it.

I'm sure you MOM will tell you that they ALREADY made the truck and sold what they made. They only made it in 2004 and 2005 models officially, but promised in relative imited quantity like the SRT4s that we are so familiar with. Interestingly, they actually built the 2005 models all the way into half-way through 2006, before the production lines shut down for it with the Viper motor, killing the SRT10 truck... which limited it to a 2-year model-year run. The '04 version included a single-cab that hauled ***, but the '05's were extended-cabs, but to keep the insurance people happy, Chrysler neglected to tell the buyers that the '05's had a few mechanical tweaks that pushed out about another 40 hp at the wheels compared to the '04's... which is a moot point to some respect because they offered single-cabs in '04, which reduced weight. Bottom line, this truck was made and sold, and no more... end of story.

And yes, the prototype Challenger promised a 6-speed, and supposedly the new SRT8 version of the Challenger represents the same... a punched-out 6.1-liter Hemi that churns 440 hp (probably at the wheels, since Chrysler has been under-rating their HP levels on SRT vehicles for years now) and attached to 6-spd manual. I have heard an automatic is also in on the table, probably for the rich housewives that want to drive it too just to get attention. Either way, it's a sweet deal and I'm glad Dodge is still into the rear-wheel drive *****-out muscle-car 2-door suff, even if the price tag is a bit shakey for it.
