it might look like SHI* but its better then rust.lol.i just used a wire brush and scrubed
the hell outa em.the only pain is taking off all 4 tires to do it.

 

btw i know i have different tires for the front and back im just burning up
the tread on the front for the summer.when winter comes ill have new
tread...SO LAUGH ALL YOU WANT...lol jk

but yeh, it looks better that rust. I did the exact same thing with my rear drums....painted it black.
you should get some rims so that it can show out more. those wheels kinda cover up that work of art.
you painted your calipers black too? you shouldve painted it somethin that would stand out more.

when you guys paint your calipers, you simply tape it off? I thought it was more thorough and the calipers had to be removed. Now i'm more inclined to paint mine. Are there any certain parts that absolutely shouldn't be painted?

 

I took mine off a couple weeks ago when I painted them, but only because I happened to be putting on new brakes at the same time. And from experience, YES, there are a couple places you DO NOT want to paint, or paint very heavily or you will run into problems:

Now here's where you DON'T WANT TO GLOB ON THE PAINT:



If you glob on the paint and it sticks really nice to calipers in the circled areas (where the calipers slide along the guides), it could keep your pads from retracting fully and grind on the rotor more than you want (like when you're not pressing on the brakes). Keep it off the back of the caliper too where the slide bushings are... you want those to stay clean... chances are you have protective boots on the ends of them, but be careful... and last but not least, OBVIOUSLY you don't want to get any on the rotor itself or the pad area... but hopefully that's the obvious one.

um well im sure about an hour for a good scrubbing and painting.you want to scrub the crap outa your brakes cause the rust will pick off.and i painted my rims along time ago but i cant get new ones cause i have a broken control arm...ugh...btw im going to edgewater its in OH and ill post some pics when i go tomarow(sat)

also good job mat they look good.i would want to stick out but im doing a black and blue dark look.im not goth i just love the dark force>LOL
