Yes, buy the big can with the hose, quick-disconnect and gauge already attached to it, and it was very well worth it for me, I think it was a great deal for only $18 and got the job done great.

Sweet deal, i've seen those cans you're talking about Wal mart. I will pick one up tomorrow. Do you have a pic of where it is? I'm trying to get the idea of where it is

BTW that **** about the cussing is hilarious

Well if you need hands-on help, a lot of shops this time of year offer "free AC inspections." If there is a wierd problem going on, you could try that first and hopefully someone wont lie to you and tell you that there is more wrong than there actually is... but I would guess that maybe you are a bit low on refridgerant/oil and/or have air in your lines, but that doesn't happen very often... it just very well may be that you need a recharge like I said, it happened to me.
