so i just rebuilt my turbo, put my new tranny in and also installed a turbo timer. Its def running a lot better, but unfortunately not any faster. just wondering how many pounds are you other turbo guys boosting? and should i keep mine lower since its an rt or is compression the same

 

if ur internals are stock 6-8 is recommended to run just to b safe

 

6-8 is safe,also make sure it spools on time or you wont get any power out of it.i think stocks can run up to10 psi if you wana try it.btw if your turbo spools all the time then your mpg will go down but you'll be faster.

 

I have been running mine for the last 6months at 4-5 lbs. It starts to spool around 3000 rpm's. So it kinda sucks but when it kicks in then it makes a real difference.

 

ya i ran mine on 5 pounds for a year but destroyed my turbo cuz i didnt have a turbo timer. I just wasnt sure if i would be safe on 8 cuz i heard compression was diff in the r/t

 

I don't have a timer as well I just try to let the car sit for a minute before I shut the engine down.

 

ya i tried to do that most of the time too, but speaking from experience i would recommend getting a tt its worth it. btw what kind of fuel setup are you running and do you have any time slips?

 

I don't have any extra fuel set up except for the srt 4 fuel pump. With the track slips I have only once, it was pretty sad, bald tires and skipping gears does not help very much. The only reason why I have not got a tt is becasue i am getting ready to put the new engine and tranny in so it should be a lot better and it already has the tt installed. So when I get done if anyone is looking for a 2.0sohc with 58000 miles on it. or a new dealer installed manual transmission with 6000 miles on it then let me know. It should happen soon I hope!

 

oh ok. whats the new setup? and you never said what you ran....low 15 or something?
