Was able to start the second whell today but due to how much sand paperI go thru,I was unable to get all the layers of primer off.
This is its current progress:

I found something interesting about the 2 wheels i have started so far, they all have these weird placed scratches on them in the same area as shown below. Is it a manufacturing flaw?, maybe thats why their is so much dam primer on them.

it was prolly from the mill they used to make them....? unless they are cast aluminum... if thats the case then it could be from a flaw in the mold they were cast in....?

That is somethingI want to know, what are these wheels made from?

I am sooooooooo afraid of putting the wheels outside right now becauseI don't know what will happen. If they were to start rustingI would have a heart attack b/c most of that work we be down the drain. Will they rust???
WhenI get the shine I have been looking for shouldI just clear coat the wheels???

They are made of aluminum, so obviously no they will not rust.

And yes, VERY GOOD IDEA to clear-coat them after you get the shine you want. If you dont clear-coat them, the aluminum will end up oxidizing over time, and you will get greyish-blackish splotches all over them in the summer... and white and black pits in them in the winter.

After all this work, there is no F***ing way these are going to even be 12 ft from snow and the salted roads.
I was going to get some 15in steelies, to roll on.

Okay, but like I said, I would clear-coat if I were you, unless you want to vigorously and carefully clean themALL the time with a nice powerball and aluminum wheel cleaner and/or polish the heck out of them constantly... if not, they will start to oxidize and "bleed" the black stuff on ya over time... even if its just summer weather.

Izero: Yes the face of the rim, and outer tire area (the outside of therim between the bead lips), and the backside whereit mounts flush to the rotoris all milled. The rest of the rim is originally cast before that I believe.

Wow they definitely look a lot better than stock. If you don't clear coat them be ready to polish them about once a week, looks good keep it up.
