o2 simulator
hey i gotta go thru emmissions coming up. does anyone know if they make an o2 simulator for neons. i know they do for mustangs and **** like that so that they can pass but ive never seen them for neons.
If you want something a bit more slick and much more accurate/adjustable/reliable, getcha an EFIE box, like this one:
http://www.pwmpower.com/efie.html
Basically you run the signal wire from your O2 sensor into it, and the EFIE box has trimable pots on it to adjust the the signal up or down... its constant variable with the incoming O2 signal, so lets say your O2 sensor is reading 0.4 volts at a given second, and you want to lean your car out... trim the pot back on the EFIE, and it will output 0.2 volts to your computer instead... the voltage will rise and fall accordingly as your O2 sensor oscillates within its operating band. Same premise goes for wanting to run more rich...
You can find those pretty cheap on Ebay too. Some people are using them for Hydrogen injection or HHO gens, but you can use them for just about whatever really. This is probably the best way tomoderately tune a naturally aspirated NGC without without spending lots of money... you can also build one a bit cheaper if you have electrical knowledge. I have the schematic on my computer at work...
