Well a guy at my work says it actually performs better and you don't oil it. He runs one in his Tiburon. Was thinking about get a Bomz or Bombz or how ever you spell it cold air intake and just replacing the junk filter it has on it with that one.

Looking at getting one of these today or tomorrow, which would you guys choose? I'm going to toss the filter away and get a aem Dryflow one instead.

Since you are throwing away the filter anyway, I would say niether one is a great deal. The first one is simply a thin and badly welded aluminized exhaust pipe with a thin layer of chrome on it.Not sure about the second one. The shipping charges on both are ridiculous. Other components are just plumbing boots and hose clamps. I would just hit Home Depot and the local auto parts store and get the same stuff for $15 OTD or less (if I was going that route).

Also keep in mind, a good K&N will flow just as well as any other quality filter.

Yea, but the K&N and AEM cold air intakes are to expensive for me so I have to go with lower stuff and then buy a good filter.

Do I have to get any special pipping for my neon for the sensors in the intake?

If you buy your own piping, the only two holesyou will need is a male fitting for the tube for the crankcase vapors, and a hole for the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. The male fitting can be a simple brass fitting from the hardware store, just drill and thread it into the pipe as long as the pipe is thick/strong enough (either a 3/8" or 1/2" NPT fitting should work). The hole for IAT sensor can be a relatively simple hole, about 3/8" in diameter or so. Just make sure that the very end of the sensor isnt touching anything inside of the pipe besides air, or you may get adverse readings from it.

Hmm, I might have to go check out a shop here in my area and see if they already have some of that kind of pipping. I guess it would be more worth just making my own then getting the AEM Dryflow filter for it.
