my neon was in an accident.... i need everything from the radiator fan forward....my cars a 2000 neon (plymouth) 5 spd. manual, and i found a 2000 neon, local, that is in fine condition, but needs the tranny(which i dont need...) and they want 500, which i would be definately willing to pay, but its an automatic...

my question is are the front end parts (radiator, radiator fan, bumper, bumper cover, hood, headlights, all the brackets, etc...) the same on an auto as on the manual?! i thought i had read somewhere that they werent, so i want to make sure before dropping the cash....

thanks!!!!!

RE: question on parts compatability
You should be fine with all of the swap... even if the radiator is different, which I doubt... I would use it anyway.

RE: question on parts compatability
thanks for the quick 1 am reply! i think that after i get a little more general consensus on the topic, ill go with this car as my donor car...

so if i do, heres another question...my current interior is tan, which i dont like all that much....if the new cars interior is black or something that i like, how hard would it be to swap over everything interior wise....like dash, and under dash stuff, like the glove box, around steering wheel....center console...... seats? carpet? headliner?! steering wheel?!!

RE: question on parts compatability
Truthfully, seats would be the easiest to swap. Next easiest would be the dash cover, and small trim pieces around the dash. The center bezzle and trim are also very easy. The glove box, center console, and rear deck cover will take a bit more time, but not much. The carpet will be a time-consuming pain, since you have to remove much of the above, plus door thresholds to get it in right. All-in-all, none of it is too hard... except the steering wheel and steering column... as long as you make sure you disconnect the battery first. This will require only a few bolts, but being careful with wiring, etc will be useful.
