Common place for a 5" tach would be right on top of the dashboard, just offset from the middle, to the right of the drivers direct field of view down the track.

depending if the tach u buy has a two cylider rating it will work without the driver... all u will need to do is hook it up to the two cylinder rating and u r set.... i have a tach that has the two cylinder rating, and i was thinking about not putting it back in..... but after reading this post i might want to just to mess with people...
