I hate some people sometimes. I go out to my car...and find some asshat has hit my car. Somehow the ****head hit my rear wheel, quarterpanel, and rear corner of my bumper. I'd estimate between 1000-1500 worth of damage. So I call the cops earlier to get a police report and they tell me, its on private property you'll have to bring your car to a police station during normal business hours. Needless to say, I am F'ing pissed. And yes, I realize its only a neon. I talked to my dad and he said I might not have to pay any deductible to get it repaired since it was technically a hit a run. Otherwise I guess it should fall under comprehensive since my car was parked, which is good cause my collision deductible is quite a bit higher then comprehensive.

Time to look for cars with black paint on their bumper and a f'ed up wheel.

That sucks man. Been there... and yes on private property, the police cannot help you too much in that situation (civil matter, the law is the law). Been there as well. You may be able to tack it on as comprehensive, but I don't know if you can get around the deductable.

Where on the quarter-panel were you hit? Got a photo? If it was anywhere around or above the rear wheel-well and dep enough... trust me, it will be a $4000+ repair on the insurance. There are three sheets that come together in one point there... the inner trunk form, the outer body panel, and the inner fender-well form. If those get crushed into each other.... it is a royal pain in the **** to fix. Been there done that... that's why my car has 10+ pounds of fiberglass on it now lol. Cut-and-weld is another option if the dent is too far in. Bottom line, that is the worse place to hit a 2nd-gen Neon, IMO.

This new site blows *** for linking to images. I have photos and I resized them to 800x600 but apparently that is still to large. It is an apartment complex, I don't know if that is technically "private property" or not, but that is what they told me on the phone. The biggest dent is right above my rear wheel. And there is a nice scratch from the back bumper all the way to above the wheel.

Well, I got one up. I'll see if I can get the other two up. Sorry you can't really see the damage that great, I just waxed my car a couple days ago.

And it probably is more then 1000-1500 of damage. I am just guessing. I know of a excellent body shop that works wonders, so I'm not really worried about getting it fixed. I just don't want to pay out the *** for something I didn't even do.

Hmm you can just link the pics directly in the message window like this, I think it is easy:

Ouch. That is in about the worst spot it could happen on the car. Been there. I would take it to the shop and see what they say for an insurance quote... it may be a lot higher than you would imagine. Like I said, there are three seperate panels that all come together right there.... ouch. Good luck with it, let us know what happens.

When this happened to me, I was unable to to "pop" it all out... and since it was so dense from the 3 panels coming together there, I literally ended up using a baby sledgehammer and 1" solid prybar... and STILL couldn't bring it out all the way. Resorted to fiberglass and bondo work.

Good luck, there are a few ways to fix that, but none are easy. Sorry it was a hit and run. When the guy hit mine, he was right there so I pulled him out of his car and threw him acrossed his hood (he was drunk, and stupid). I ended up making him pay me $1400 out of pocket for it. Some people are just ********.

Well. I'm sure it was some drunk *** person that hit the car. Since I park near NO ONE! It happened sometime after 10pm last night and this morning. I have already walked around looking for suspicious cars and I didn't see anything yet. I will keep my eyes open and I will turn the ******* car in when I find it, if I do. Like I said, I know of a body shop that should be able to fix it. Probably won't be able to get to the body shop for estimate for a couple days, I'm sure the number is going to be high for someones 5 seconds worth of stupidity. Which they deserve multiple *** beatings for.

Saturday night, hit-and-run... probably a drunk that was coming from the bar to an after-party at the apartments. Or an *******. Or maybe a drunk *******. Maybe knock on doors and ask around who was having late-night guests. Beat their asses too just for being associated with morons. I do, it makes me feel happy.

And for those of you who have not voted yet, I am lobbying again for those of you who have not voted in the COTM voting... since I am the only Neon in the group hint-hint, I need the help because someone is catching up to me fast...

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/retired-otm-threads/171619-aug-sept-cotm-voting.html

Thanks guys...

Nice, Iowa. LOL. Yeah, it would make me feel better but its not worth it. No offense to the guy with avenger because it looks like he put a lot of time and work into that, but that thing is riced out in a bad way.
