Default brake-rotor question....

was looking at old threads, want to replace my rotors.

don't need slotted or drilled, not looking to upgrade, just replace the stock. (some of the threads had said those are mostly for looks anyway)

had also said that some of the ones u get at the chain auto stores are cheap-as in made in China or whatever

any chain store that would be good to go to?.. priced at Murrays, Auto Zone and Advanced Auto.. all pretty much the same for stockers.. 40 to 50 bucks each... (1 local store quoted me 22 each!)

..and why did some ask me 10 or 11 inch rotors, when I told them I have a 2004 Dodge Neon SE, no HO engine, no ABS and no discs in the rear?

tell ya what, for stockers i would buy the USA made ones. ive tried to save by using the china ones and that was a mistake, cuz they warp real fast.

as for 10 or 11" ones, they asked me that too and i didnt know, so i asked what he sells most of and that was what i got and they fit. i just went and checked my spare and it was 10 inches. 05 sxt

as for pads, i seem to get the same milage from the cheap ones as i do the more expensive ones. i have not tried ceramic yet, so sorry i cant comment. i can go 25k on with an auto or 40k+ with a stick.

Because they're morons.

All non-SRT-4 Neon's have 10.1" front rotors.

update... went out today and got the made in USA rotors and some Wagner pads... total was about $83.00 for the 2 rotors and 4 pads.
man, I forgot how easy it is to change these parts... hadn't done any for about 10 years, always had someone else doing them.

took me about 1 hour and a half, AND I painted the calipers w h ile doing these! (most of the time was spent waiting for coats of paint to dry)
