to remove your rear deck speakers you have to remove the back seat, just pop off the bottom cushion and there are 4 torx bolts that are size 55 that you need to remove. after that the whole seat can be easily removed. you might have to pop off the plastic panels that run along with the back window. there are 4 Phillips screws that hold down each speaker, the ones in the back against the window are a pain. you should consider getting wiring harness for the speaker connections. way easier that way in my opinion.
oh yeah, and for the people talking about weight reduction, i have two tens and a four point cage, but i was running in the 13s in my 2.0??? so what does that make me? fast and got some boom boom....:-)

god Dam will you B****es quit and tell me how to take my stock speakers out or get to em....and btw your car aint fast unless you have a turbo...stripping it or taking weight reduction techniques would only mean you could beat what another neon barely.tommy your automatic window engines that make your windows go up and down weigh 40-50 lbs...did you take them out????doubt it so go away...a 2.0 sohc non turbo sxt neon is not a drag car...plus you use it as your daily driver so it has no potential...now if you put a turbo or supercharger or a new engine then i could see but intake and exhaust does barely anything.....just my 2 cents if your a wana be dragger/fast car with nothing under the hood.oh and you might wana get a new tranni if you are thinking about doing anything...

I did the same thing dude. Mines just came off (not exactly easily) but it came off without tearing the carpet cover. What I did was remove the 2 side pillars, the plastic seatbelt covers, and then I used something to jack up the carpet from one corner and then pulled the whole thing off. I replaced my 6x9 without ever removing the seats.
