Default Faded bumpers

Do you guys have any tips for restoring the paint color in my bumpers? They don't match with the rest of the car. I have tried Kit Scratch Out and that helped a little, but I was just wondering if you guys knew of a better product to use.

Put a couple pictures up and i'll tell you your options... With out pics we really don't know what your bumper looks like and how bad it is.

Depending on what color your car is, you could maybe get away with trying out some Turtle Wax colored wax... I had a black car with horriblely faded bumpers. I used the Turtle Wax Black on the whole car, and the effects from the fade were significantly reduced.

I could also recommend some light rubbing compound and a complete wet-sand and re-buff of the whole bumper... that may help.

If it truly is "fade" and not "wear," then the only suggestion I would have besides all that is to have a full re-paint, for find a better one off a different car of the same color.

I will take pics as soon as my mom gets here with the card that goes in the camera.

They are supposed to be Flame Red (PR4), but they look like they have a white coating on them.

My car has a bunch of like white specs in the front bumber. Looked a lot like yours. How did you get that out exactly? Wouldn't sanding it make it worse?

Only if you don't know what your doing.

Pick up some 2000 grit sandpaper( i found it at walmart, auto isle)
you are also going to need wax, and car soap.
1st.
-I sprayed down the part of the car where i was going to sand with water.
-I filled a bucket full of soapy water and let the and paper soak for a min, while it soaks take a sponge and go over the surface with the soapy water.
2nd.
-start wet sanding, it may take a while to get through the clear coats and layers of wax on your car( when you start to see the color coming off start to sand gently)
- periodicly wipe the surface down with the sponge.
3rd.
- (optional) i used a clay bar and got everything off the surface of the paint.
- wax the car in that area don't be shy lather it up, i used a buffer so if you don't have one your hand may hurt because you will have to put about 4 layers of wax down to be safe.

Only use 2000 grit, i repeat only use 2000 grit!!!!

sorry - that bumper (srtgrt34)will need a complete repaint
the clear coat is delaminated from the base coat of the bumper
wet sanding it will only make it worse
Buffing will only make it worse

Cause - the clear coat is no longer adhering to the base coat - color coat
Why ? typically there is not enough mils or thickness of clear to stand up to UV rays
The UV breaks down the clear and turns it chalky/milky/peely

Need to R&I the cover
And respray it...
Sorry
