Headgasket leaks are not that common on most engines. Some engines are just more problematic than others. Early 1st-gen Neons were more problematic. Most 2nd-gen Neons are more reliable, and no more problematic than most other manufacturer's engines.

In most cases its not the engine itself that causes the head gasket leak, its a head gasket made of poor materials or that was improperly designed/manufactured (such as the early 1st Gen head gaskets). Then obviously, if your head or block is warped your going to have some issues too lol.

In general though, any Neon (1st or 2nd Gen) with the MLS Head gasket is going to be extremely reliable.

Wow... post that in the 1st-gen area LOL j/k.

I just noticed that I am now a "Champion," instead of a "Senior Member." Champion is okay I guess... sounds a little too vague though. Oh well.
