Default new exaust

ok, so i wanted to buy myself a new toy, like a g35 coupe or a srt-4, but something came up and i wown't be able to afford it for a good while now. so i decided to keep moding my se. my next step is a new exaust. but it's not to clear for me about the se exqaust. like, i heard it's the same like the r/t, except the muffler. if that's true, then the vibrant from modern should be enough, right? then, what does a full system from borla or magnaflow offer more?like i could get the magnaflow system shipped for 400$, new. i would even spend 650$ on a borla system, if i knew it makes a difference. i'm also planning to get the mpx tb, a header, and maybe an indy intake. so i'm planning to make that small engine breathe as good as possible. so what would be the best choice about a new exaust? i'd love to hear an opinion from iowa or neonrt, or anybody else.

I agree with contagious on this one... you won't notice any huge improvements with a bolt-on exhaust. Putting a glasspack in there will have the same overall performance as anything else that you mentioned IMO. Wether or not you want the SRT4 dual tip sis up to you, but FYI they are really only for looks on our cars... they don't add a performance benefit over a nice single-tipped exhaust.

I put stock SRT-4 catback on my car, using the stock resonators, no glasspack. It is really loud, but not enough for me to get pulled over so far, but it sounds good. I have gotten compliments from all sorts of people about the way it sounds. There is a guy I work with that has a street legal 9-second camaro and he said it sounds good...even like a stock small V8 at idle (probably like a 289 or something). As far as performance goes, I think a little bottom end may have been lost, but it feels like the top end pulls a bit harder than before. I got mine for $90 (no shipping) and then $40 from Midas to customize it so that it wouldnt hit the bumper. Technically we could have just bent the hangers but we made extensions instead.

not too sure dorin. I would say more tame than the srt but that is only a guess. For me i'm in the same boat as sxtspeed we got a good deal and couldn't pass it up.
