When the light turns green and I take my foot from the brake to the gas. Barely even touching the gas it starts to shutter back and fourth pretty violently, then feels as if it revs to high before it goes into the next gear. If I decide to then step on the gas it feels as if something starts to grind and and catch on to something as it shutters back and fourth then goes.

I drive a 01 auto 3spd. Any solutions? It's been going on for awhile now and has just recently started getting worse.

change the tranny filter and use ATF+4 only to fill. any brand, just make sure its ATF+4. you will need 4.5 quarts if you just drain it and change the filter. if you take it to a shop and have it flushed, then it will take around 8 quarts, just make sure they use ATF+4 and dont let them tell you that it doesnt matter, cause it DOES!!!!

its the only thing you can do without tearing it down. usually shuddering can be solved with a tranny filter and fluid change.

So would it be a good choice to use Royal Purple tranny fluid?

the brand choice is your call, but it has to be ATF+4.

or the coils in your wires went bad...studdering happens with these cars sooner or later so check your wires.

It's got about 110k miles on it. Today while shifting to the next gear it decided not to and just to sit there and rev until I let go of the gas and then it clicked to the next gear after a few secs. Was a bit odd.

Going to change the tranny fluid this upcoming week after I get paid.

From experience with other fluids, I would recommend using ONLY the Mopar ATF+4 stuff for an OEM tranny...
