Default 01 Plymouth Neon leak

Hey All,

Newbie here. Got a problem and need your help. I bought my daughter a 01 Neon a couple of years ago. Problem, every time it rains REAL hard while the car sits, once she starts forward or goes up hill, there is a gush of water comes from the passenger side of the car onto the floor boards. I tried a garden hose onto the windsheild but that won't make it leak. It almost seems like it overflows into the air intake opening.

Has anyone had this issue and if so how did you fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-My Wife's '05 SXT did this a couple times too. Only after a couple real hard storms. I pulled the cover off from below the wiper arms to check the cowling. Everything looked nice and clean and no leaves were plugging the fender drains either. But what I did see could possibly be the problem. The fresh air intake only sits about an inch above the bottom of the cowling. And right along there the it's pretty much flat. So if the car is in a heavy downpour, it looks like it's "possible" it could back flow into the vent while trying to drain through the fenders. I pulled probably about a 1/2 gallon or more of water from the front passenger's side carpet with the shop-vac last week. And yes, we had a mother of a storm hit.

Matt
