it's not that Dodge did a bad job. I've seen Motors last for over 200 thousand miles. it is just as the sound of the motor.

 

Did you guys check the power stearing pump, my car was ticking loud when it was cold and it was the pully i changed it a tick is gone.

 

as I said, it happens right off the lot or 200,000 miles later.

interesting, mine is doing this but i listened to several other neons and the noise wasnt apperant in either situation. I have an 01 r/t i got to listen to an 04 sxt and a 95 es and the clicking rolling sound wasnt there. I would really like to figure what it exactly is so u can change it or modify it.

 

i have the same problem and its coming from the power steering pump i can feel it when i put my hand on it but dose not cause a problem

 

wait a min do you have hub caps because my sister has the same problem whith her stupid a$$ 2003 chevy malibu and if it is coming from the wheel well like i think you said that might be it

There is nothing you can do to stop it other than fully rebuild the motor. As I already said it will not harm anything.
