Default Research on sound system

I am thinking about puting a decent sound system in my neon.

If anyone here know the size of the speakers that are in our instrument panel cover? and any good reputable audio site to buy from?

What are you lookin for? I work for a company here in R.I. maybe I can help you out. Pm me with what you are lookin to get. And to answer your question about what to fit under the dash mat i have seen 3 1/2" work fine but need some work to fit in their or if you do a componet set you can mount the tweeters there as well.

I am looking into getting some speakers for the instrument panel, rear deck and front doors to start with, then later on buy an amp and two 10" subs. I have been looking into the company Focal and have heard good things so far, would you say they are a good audio company? Since I am new to audio I have no idea what the difference between component and just regular speakers. My car at one time had an audio system installed and the guy put tweeters in each one of my doors above the speaker, which he drilled holes for. I would like to mount speakers up on the instrument cover, since I have tweeters already and most speakers have tweeters integrated in them. I was looking into Focal speakers for the front doors, and rear deck then putting some 50 dollar mtx speakers for under the instrument. Then later on buy a 2 mtx subs and make my own sub box to conserve some trunk space. If you know a good amplifier company thats not too much money, please tell, I am not looking to spend over 1k in audio.

Thank you for your help!

Well to be honest focal is a good company but pretty pricey. I deal with jl audio, rockford fosgate and some others. What are you lookin for in the sound? Competition loud or sound quality? I mean jl audio has a great company and they have a line out thats just as good but for half the price. Not the greatest stuff in the world but decent for an average system. Im gonna try to fix the pm thing. Let me know what you come up with

component speakers come wit a seperated tweeter and like a lil amp for them. regular speakers have the tweeters wit them like 2 way 3 way 4way speakers. i have 3 way speakers hooked up to a alpine amp and they sound nice and crisp

So the car did have component speakers in it at one time. All thats left of the previous system are: two front tweeters, power cables from an amp and rear speakers that were cut by previous owners
