Port matching throttle body with intake manifold
Hi, I have a 2000 dodge neon and I just bought a 55mm throttle body. I was going to install it last weekend however, I was told to port-match the throttle body with the intake manifold to get better performance. What does this mean and how is this done?
If someone could reply back i'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Cody

thanks contagious19 I appreciate your reply. I also have another question though on this other forum i'm not sure if it's just the drivers accerlerating too hard or if it's an actual problem. However, The other forum stated that with a 55mm throttle body it's hard to maintain a certain speed and that on take off it's very hard not to spin the tires and the car is very jumpy, since the throttle response is so quick. is this true?
well i spin my tires wit 17" rims wit my stock throttle body. most of da reason is da engine movement, if u put some motor mount inserts it would reduce wheel hop and u well get better throttle response
Yes only if you have forced induction or have some head work, If you don't its more of a drawback instead of a gain.
yea 60mm is bigger but you will need a lot of supportin mods. i read many threads about throttle bodies and 55mm is wats recomemnded but no one makes it. u gotta make ur own one or have someone make one
