Default tires

hey, i am thinking about getting tires soon. so i think i want to upgrade from the originals that are on there. First i am thinking of getting new rims, (16x7, 40 offset). so i was wondering what would be a good tire to out on these rims. would a 195/50-16 work, or a 205/50-16. I am worried though about hurting gas mileage though, i can deal with a little sacrifice, but not too much. my car is pretty much stock, other than a K&N cai, and a Full Boar muffler. i appreciate all suggestions. thanks

I would go with 205/45 R16. your gas mileage will not be affected much if at all.

I went from stock 14" steelies to 16" MB Drifter rims with a 38 offset..tires are 205/50's and here's how tight the clearance is with the rear stabalizer (?) bar.

wouldn't a 40 offset bring the tire and wheel in even more..to the point it will be rubbing this?
