Lets have a poll...does your neon tick?

Ok, I switched from 5w30 to 5w20 and personally I think it made a world of difference. It ticks at startup but it DOES NOT sound like a diesel anymore. And once the oil is hot(Second bar on the temp gauge where it stays)I cannot hear it tick at all.
Me so happy. Only downside is 5w20 amsoil is rated for 12,000km while the 30 weight is rated for 20,000, and it's more expensive.

i use the amsoil 10w-30 in my 04 sxt and i still have the ticking as well. the spark knock that is mentioned in the manual has a valid point but ive been using the same gas station since the day that i owned it and dont fill up anywhere else, unless im driving out of state. and it only knocks when its cold outside and as been sitting for a while. even then the knock doesent last long

My 03 SXT didn't tick at all until about 90K when I installed a cheap NAPA oil filter. Apparently the NAPA filters do not have a check valve to keep the oil from running out of the head, making for dry starts. The ticking lessened after switching to Mopar filters but the damage has been done and always ticks some, worse in winter.

i can rev my engine and any rpm, then when its coming back down it ticks from about 1200 rpm down to idle.... it does it all the time... if its running higher it stops.... ive yet to figure out what it is that causes this, but if you guys figure something out, please let me know...
Im assuming my tick is from worn rod bearings... which then again im at 80k miles
