Default What battery do you guys recommend?

I have an '04 Neon SXT, and two different people have told me "you'll need a new battery soon," but honestly I haven't the foggiest idea which one is the best for me. Instead of just trusting some battery selector or a salesperson at the store, I thought I'd ask here first what kind you guys recommend. Thanks!

I have always used those Everstart Maxx batteries from Wal-Mart with no issues. I have had a 975CCA in my truck for about 7 years now. My father's truck has had one in it for about 5 or 6. Plus, they aren't that expensive.

I am going to stick with the Motorcraft ones for now in my Mustang though. Almost 6 years and the original is still going strong.

Basically, I'd say just buy a basic battery unless you have a need.

And make sure its a battery you need and not a starter. Alot of people make that mistake. Basically, If it holds a charge...it's not your battery. If it's groggy to start, then it's most likely your starter.

Get a battery test first...because I made this mistake once already. Most parts places do it for free.

It actually starts just fine, so it's not a matter of needing a starter. I was just curious about what battery to buy because both the guys at JiffyLube told me I'd need one soon, and also when I took it to another place to have something else looked at, they also said I'd need one soon. So, I just thought whenever I had some money to spare in the next few weeks, I'd go ahead and get one just in case. At JiffyLube, they noticed a LOT of corrosion on the positive terminal and cleaned it for me, so perhaps that's what lead both these places to suggest getting a new one soon.

The neon can't take an everstart maxx. The neon's battery is so small so they end up getting the short end of the stick. Optima is what I wanted when my walmart one died and they didn't make one small enough. Currently I have a Duralast and when it craps out I'm thinking about getting a mopar one.
