I recently just sold my amp and subs for 350. I wanted to get rid of it so i can put stuff on the motor. I have an intake and exhaust right now. What next mod should i do. I have 350 to play around with? I was thinknig on plug wires. is this a good idea? or a cam. thanks

 

Plugs and wires won't do much for you. I would take a look at getting a header to finish up your exhaust.

 

nah i did the header a month ago. Everything seems to give me top end. lol Well last ngith i raced my friend stock sxt. I beat him by 2 car lengths once i hit 65. i didnt relize that the intake did so much. I wanted to save up for a turbo but my buddy with an srt 4 said my motor is high compression you will blow it up. Is this tru? He is selling his srt4 by the way. enuff of me BSin peace

 

Was your friends stock SXT a MTX or an Automatic? If your friend has an auto and u have a manual, u would have spanked him anyway. I think most of it is in your head. Another possibility is that your friend couldn't drive (your a better driver).

As far as the turbo, I've never heard of that. Yeah it will blow up your engine, that's why people sell them[&:]. I don't think that is true. U just have to put a turbo in a car that the car can handle. There are turbo's specifically made for Neons. That's just my opinion.

 

You can blow a motor. With a stock neon, the comp. ratio is 9.2:1. That means if you run too much, i.e more then 8 lbs, you can blow your motor. Too much air not enough fuel. If there's some way of lowering comp. ratio and run about a 10:1 air/fuel ratio you can run more boost.


You said something about a cam for your next mod, i would go with a Crane 12 or a mag. cam. i think that their the same grind or close to it.


If you really want a turbo, I'll sell you mine. It's a 16g freshly rebuilt, no shaft play and it spins freely. If your interested email me and we will talk price.

 

He said he wanted to save up for a turbo in general. He didn't say a specific type of turbo. His friend was basically saying he couldn't put any turbo on his car.

On my last reply, I said u just have to put a turbo on your car that it can handle (meaning I know u can mess up your engine).

 

You can blow up any car with a turbo if you don't know what you're doing or don't do something right.

 

thats tru. we both hav atx neons so i dont no why i beat him so bad. I wish i could afford a turbo. But i also want lambo doors to. i found a site that sold lambo doors for my car for 375 but it didnt come with the gas shocks. how much are shocks anyway.

 

If you found a site that sells lambo doors for $375, post it here, the best I have seen is about $2000.
