so it has only done it twice in the last 3 weeks but....smoke starts billowing from the hood and its a crackling sound, no squealing, almost silent. but the smoke builds rather quickly and confuses me when i cant hear squealing. car only does it for 5-15 seconds. anyone have any ideas?

 

it sounds like your coolant.you might wana check your levels of that cause if it splashes and burns then it will be white so check the color.
