Interesting thread to bring up for that. 2 V-Belts (IDK why they call it a serpentine system; it isn't) and the timing belt. Can't go wrong with either of those brands.

hey bro, i hate to break it to ya, but all the neons after 2000 have serp belts on them. 2 belts on the motor and one on the timing.

last time i saw a neon with a v-belt was in 96.

A serpentine belt is a single belt that runs all accessories. There are two v-shaped belts that run the acc's on the Neons (if I took the v-belts off of my truck, and laid them next to the ones on the Neon, the only difference would be the length). I suppose you could call the timing belt a serpentine belt, but there's not much point in that since it isn't a regular belt and doesn't have the regular serpentine belt function. Timing belts are called toothed or cog belts.

This is a serpentine belt:

That's not what the Neon has...

mine does. both of mine do. 2000 and a 2005

they look exactly like that picture except its not a GM. there are two, one is short and runs the a/c ( i think) and the other is alot longer and runs the power steering and the alternator.

i have a spare short one and if you like i can take a pic of it.

Well, SOB. I went and looked, and I suppose they are. I must be confusing the Neon with another small car I worked on. Still only supposed to be one belt
