Default neon + pothole = KABOOM

I haven't had the worst luck, but damn my tires aren't worth $H!T with all these damn potholes in michigan. First time i blew out 2 rims and 2 tires (both unrepairable). $500 later i was driving it again. This time i bent a rim pretty good and blew a tire out. I have 195x50xr16 i believe, and there is like no rubber on my tires stock. Looks like i am going to buy some new rims so i can put more rubber on my tires. Anyone else have problems with their neons being sucked into potholes?

Dude, call the city & report those potholes. I don't live in Michigan, I'm in Oklahoma, but I worked for OKC public works a while back & if a citizen's car was damaged by potholes or city property due to no fault of their own, the city would usually pay to fix the damage.

Just a thought, since your car keeps getting hurt. I find that I get sucked into a lot of potholes too, I have little 14" rims though.

Don't drive into them? There are potholes all over here in certain areas and I simply avoid them.

This has only happened to me once on one of my 205 40 17 rims, but the tire is fine. Other than that, I've had no problems with potholes. (I avoid most of them)

It's gonna cost me $100 to fix that rim...so now I drive around with all 14's while my 17's sit in my garage collecting dust.

i havent had that experience, but my wife has had to replace 2 rims on her nitro . your best bet is try to be observant and do the best you can to avoid the potholes.

Just pay attention. I've hit one pothole in 4 years. I hit the pothole one night that cracked a wheel, cost me 175 to fix. Rims are almost never unrepairable. I would say slow down and be more observant.

Before I moved out of Michigan I hit a pot hole with my 19's... there was some fun... blew out a tire and 300 bucks later I have a new tire... I then Moved down to Houston, not many pot holes here. As kabuk1 said, I would report it to the city/ township etc and work with them to pay for the repairs or at least help out. I would have done the same, but I was moving in 2 days. Good luck.

i had that happened to me on a vacation. I was going to new york and in the middle of PA, i hit a pothole. turned out i cracked my rim and destroyed the tire. ended up costing me 300 bucks to find a rim and a tire in BFE. i would a just put the spare on but i was more than half way to new york, and figured that would be to long to drive on a doughnut.
