Front Splitter
About a month ago I nosed my body kit into a dirt bank and needless to say crushed the fiberglass. I have patched the kit and now it is ready for paint but I was gonna ask if anyone has found a "fron end splitter" for a 2nd gen neon. If you dont know what Im talking about look at the Zapp advertisement on this site and look at the front of the red SRT4 at the bottom of the front bumper. The carbon fiber thing is a splitter. This will save my front bumper and if any of you are lowered mabe this would help you out too. Thanks jay
yea iwas wondering the same thing. i have the same kit as you. I ran the ground 3 times. just scratched it tho. nouthing to bad but i wanted to put somthing under it. My friends dad got a lamborginie and he said he has rollers under the front. would this work? he said there from john deer or sumthing.
I have one on my car. I got mine in Oceanside, CA called carbon by design. It was actually for an SRT-4 but I modified to work on my 01 R/T with a kamanari body kit. It also looks great. I think it ran me a round 230 bucks. www.carbonbydesign.com I think hope this helps
So i just picked up my double ought neon that was given to me in trade for a case of beer and cleaning out a fellas garage to get it... and been looking for body parts i noticed most splitters are outrageously priced. I found in one of my many sport tuner mags that making your own is quite simple if you have a few hours and some dry time. Basically trace your bumper ( adding a few inches of course) going as far back as you like (be sure to compensate holes for your oil and what nots) and trace it to some foam core cardboard and cover it with either a: carbon/ kevlar fabric with the proper bonding epoxy or b: fiberglass fabric and the appropriate bonding agent... now i know its probably not that simple but as far as im concerned it really is and probably a lot cheaper... I made one for an 98 mustang of my brothers that looks really professional out of fiberglass but we used luan to make it a little more sturdy and its a bit easier to find. and the front torsion bars to mount it are all over the web i think arp sells them for 35$ when i make one for the neon i will post some pics. thanks!
I built my own ... I cut the front shape out of Plexiglass and used a router to make the shape ... Then used a glass table top to attach it to , mold release and spread out the carbon fiber, light coat of resin to harden it , then I cut Aluminum to fit under it and sandwiched it in between the carbon/and a layer of fiberglass , remove and resin the top , sand smooth and clearcoat ... drill for the stabilizers and mount

Put the stock bumper back on with the plastic valance and you will have no problems. Plus a front splitter is not meant for not bottoming out your bumper it's meant for downforce on the front of your vehicle at high speeds. If your really planning on hitting stuff with your front bumper buy a truck and put a huge brush guard on it.
