valve cover
Their is a vendor every so often on ebay that sells powercoated 1st gen valve covers for under 100 bucks, the only thing you have to do is send back yours when you install the new one or else you get hit with a hefty core charge.

The 1st gen valve covers do fit and their is an advantage over the 2nd gens cover.
The pcv valave on the 1st gen cover is in a better spot than the 2nd gen which allows less oil into the intake manifold and they are metal.
All sohc dodge neon valve covers are interchangeable.
The one in bad venges link is not from a neon its from an eclipse, it would not work on a sohc neon, only 1st gen dohcs. That is the same vendor that sells the 1st gen valve covers though.
Edit: I just thought of something. Before you buy a powder coated valve cover ask what the used to blast it. If they used plastic or glass beads or media DO NOT buy it for this reason the small particles of glass stick to the metal and do come off when installed and the motor is running, which causes some serious engine problems. I would have valve covers done one of these two ways, walnut shells or baking soda.

i found one that im probably going to get. im assuming the tube on top of the cover is where the pcv valve slides into it and the tube on the back of it is where a hose hooks into it then leads into the intake manifold. now when i order a new gasket set, do i get one for a 1st gen or 2nd gen. sorry for the newbish questions, but i barely know anything about the 1st gen neons?
