2000 Neon 3rd brakelight
I just bought a 2000 Neon. The third brake light does not work. Went to Napa, got the bulb, but can not get the bulb holder out of the housing. It turns ~30° CCW to where it looks like it should come out, but it won't. Using a small screw driver to put prying pressure under the lip of it, it puts stress on the housing like there is a lip still inside the housing. Is there a trick to get this thing out?
Thanks!

You should just have to turn it and pull it out. Its not really that hard to do. You might have to wiggle it a little bit if its a really tight fit, but it should come out without too much of a problem.
I've tried and tried. Today I will try taking the housing out, hopefully the lens and the housing are not one piece, but even if it is, maybe I will have better luck with it in a more accessable place.
I have a question on your head lights. Are the bulbs LED or are they in addition to the standard bulb, or are they a replacement for the standard bulb, and where did you get them?

I took the housing out and the opposite side from where the bulb mounts has a cut out and I was able to change it that way. Even from the inside I could not push it out.
