I would just get a modded valve body, shift kit, and maby put in some heavy duty clutch packs and bands and you could get manual like performance for half the money. I modded my valve body on my 2000 neon and it brought the old gal to life. This summer I am gonna put in heavy duty cluth packs and new bands that my friend will do. The shift action is pretty precise as at a stop you shift down into one and then accerate to the red line and just advance the shifter to 2nd and it kicks right in, then take that gear to the red line and go for third. I put in a cold air intake and magnaflow exhaust and my car is pretty zippy. I can get to about 65-70 miles an hour in 2nd gear and be at like 5500 rpm's. I thought about putting a manual in like you want to and my friend convinced me on the modded valve body and I was glad I did.

IMO that is a lot of BS work, time, money and effort. I would get a car that was manual to begin with.

well its not like i have another 4 and a half grand to throw down to get the same car in a manual, for that i might as well jus get a diff car and im still paying it off, i dont make alot of money...hence a manual swap
