Default 2001 dodge neon rt

I just bought a 01 rt, the muffler needs to be replaced. I want to be able to put in on myself without welding and I dont want one that will be loud, any suggestions? Also, I would like to change wires and plugs, which are recommended for it. The engine is a 2.0 magnum. One more thing, Im thinkin about lowering it, wiill it ride the same or will it be a rough ride and what is the best way to lower it? THANK YOU and nice forum!!

if you want some good plugs, go with the ngk iridium or the ngk v-power copper plugs. i prefer the iridium plugs though. now for the wires. i took my stock coil pack off and went with the msd coil pack and msd wireset. my car runs a lot smoother now then it did when i got it. it was under 200 bucks for the both of them. as for the muffler, i have the pacesetter exhaust and header that im getting ready to put on next weekend. everything is direct replacement as far as i can tell. wont know really until i actually get to putting everything on. im not really sure about the lowering part. i havent made it that far yet. theres quite a few people on this forum that can point you in the right direction with that

if you lower it, the ride comfort will suffer dramatically. the best way to lower your car is up to you and how deep your pockets are. if money isn't tight, then i would go with coil overs.

not true, if you shop correctly and purchase a good set of coilovers your ride comfort will not suffer that much. Now where you ride comfort will lower is when you change the wheels, and go any lower then a 40 series.

hey just to let you know if you do lower ur car there is no way i would go with coil overs the mechanics just dont work you have to change so much and you will never be able to get ur alignment back to were it needs to be you will burn through tires faster than you can buy them plust coil overs are the cheap way i have an 01 neon rt and i was going to lower it coil overs are only 45 bucks but when i looked into it your handling and ride quality would suffer greatly the only way to go is with drop spindals but they are spendy o yea and if you need a stock muffler i got my old one it would be as simple as hooking up the hangers and tightening a clamp you could easly do it in ur backyard if thats the case

i dont know what coilovers you are looking at that are that cheap but yea i wouldnt buy those either. obviously you it all depends on what you want coilovers give you the option to adjust your ride height for various reasons to get the right tune to your driving. however if your looking for a good cheap way to lower your car where you wont sacrifice too much in ride look at lowering springs should be about 200 for a set of 4
