Default Neon Transmission problem??

I have a 2003 Dodge neon sxt automatic.

A couple days i've noticed a jerking motion when I'm slowing down at a stop light. It seems that once I get down to about 1000 rpms it jerks and shoots up to about 1200 or so. Seems like it's having trouble down shifting to first gear.
Otherwise the car drives fine, I do have a oil pressure sensor code (p0522), i'm going to replace the oil pressure sensor when i change the oil. I don't think this is related.
I checked the transmission fluid when the car was hot today after work and it was half way between cold and hot. I added about half a quart in and drove home and it did it on the way home. It doesn't do it every time, but probably more than 50% of the time.
It started after I put gas in it, could it be bad gas?
I also changed the spark plugs a few weeks ago, nkg copper I think.
Anyway, hopefully it isn't the transmission, any ideas? anyone have this problem before?
Thanks.

did this start happening before or after you replaced the plugs?

I'd say it started about a week and a half after I replaced the plugs. I just swapped out my plug wires because the fourth one wasn't clicking in. Drove it around for about 10 minutes and still getting the jerk when i'm slowing to a stop. Gets under a 1000 rpms, jerks up to 1200 like before.

Take it and have the fuel injectors cleaned. It runs about $20 if they do it right. Bottle in the gas tank and bottle down the engine.

Also, use NGK plugs and MSD wires. I learned that one right away! I didn't at first and had the same issues.

Check your air filter too.
