Default Oil Plug ???

I changed the oil in my brothers 2000 dodge neon today..... however the drain plug didnt screw in or anything it just poped out.... it didnt take much force to get out either.... is that normal? it almost seems too easy to fall out.... is this just the way they are?? I've just never seen one like this before....
thanks for any help

Sounds stripped or like it was a pop-in plug? I'd buy an oversized drain plug and replace it.

it definetly wasnt stripped.... there were no threads on the plug it was just like a big rubber nipple with a wing nut on the end..... so i take it normally its a regular threaded plug?

Most (not saying all anymore, lol, someone always knows an exception ) vehicles have a threaded plug with a gasket.

I've had the pleasure of wrenching the drain plug on a 95 neon, a 2003sxt, and a 2004r/t, all of them had a fairly standard drain plug. On the R/T the dealership put the drain plug in wayyyy too tight with an air wrench and I had to get it drilled & tapped with new threading and an oversize plug for it. but they were always threaded with metal bolt plugs with a plastic gasket. a rubber/plastic plug sounds like a dishonest solution for an oil change place losing or damaging your stock plug and just wanting you to get away from their business before you noticed.
