Default HID info

this is a few tid bits of information that i recieved today, so i want to make people aware. i recieved a ticket for my hid's about a month ago. i finally went to court today about it and got reamed a new one by the judge. now this is going to be different from state to state, so you may want to check how things opperate in your state. so this is how things are in virginia. the judge explained to me why i got the ticket in the first place. hid's are legal here up to 10,000k, anything higher than that, its illegal to use on road. i have 6,000k, so its not that much of a biggie. also the hid's must be inside of a projector style headlamp assembly, either comming from the factory or aftermarket, but the aftermarket ones have to be dot approved. the ones that i had them in were the regualr headlamps that were on my neon to begin with. that i didnt know, so my bad. so after everything was said and done. my $87 ticket turned into being $217. i forgot i was going to have to pay court costs and the processing fee. so either way i know what not to do next time lol

True. Which is why its not a great idea just to throw hids in halogen housings. Projectors cost a lot, but are FTW.

The projectors I used cost about 400 dollars. Overall, I have probably spent around 600-700 in materials and probably 10-20 hours of my time to make mine. When I get some free time I have to fine tune them. Soon they'll be back on the car and looking perfect.
