Cv boot cup
go to a parts store, advanced auto parts, auto zone... anyting, CV boot is very cheap, and come with the clamps and the grease, shouldnt go over 15 to 20 bucks at all, GET THESE NEW!!! im always about telling ppl to go to a junkyard but anything lllike this, rubber...... get it brand new..... and its got a cheap price
very true, i found something ****ty about this tho.. there are 2 types of boots, you can get the solid boots, or you can get the boots the are split down the middle that you just assemble on the axles.... this is a bit more expensive than just your regular boot.... if you get the solid one, you have to take the axle off the spndle... with the other kind, just cut your old boot off and put it on your axle, whatever you want to do, its not hard either way... guess it depends on how much of a cheap *** you are... like me.................... im a HUGE cheap *** lol
I think a split design wouldn't last as long...but what do I know. It's easy to pull an axle.
1) Jack up front of car
2) Pull wheel
3) Get a big bar and the right sized socket (one size smaller then 1 1/4" but in metric) and pop off the axle nut. You will need a second person to keep their foot on the brake to do this sucessfully.
4) Either remove 2 bolts from strut(where it attaches to spindle), or the bolt holding bottom arm to spindle(which you might have to also remove the sway bar...kinda a pain, do it the first way even though the book tells you to do it this way.)
5) Unmount tie rod end(A hammer worked for me to pop it out...just leave the nut on so you don't bugger the threads)
6) Put the nut back on a few threads and tap it with a hammer till the axle breaks from the splines.
7) You should be able to pull the axle out now. Sometimes the ring inside the diff won't let you pull the inside part out, but you don't need that out anyways(It will seperate at the boot)
Replace the boot and do everything in reverse. Shouldn't take you more then 1-2 hours.

also make sure when you pot the tie rod end out you dont let it twist around or this will put out out of alignment... but pretty much all that ohno2.0 said is very true... but i think that if you put it in 1st or park it will keep from having the second person from pushing the brake, as long as the oposite wheel is still on the ground...
luckily i use an impact wrench alot, so i dont run into that problem
