I don't agree with that statement either.

i look at srts as this.... bought not built..... every srt that is around me are all kids that have no clue about what a turbo does or what how an engine works for that matter.. even the middle aged guy in my town is the same way... i give the people like lil spark plug and lots of others that do there own work on there cars to build them and make them special, but not the retards of the srt world that have no clue what is going on.. they bought it because they r fast.... the people that send there car out to have the mods done, i am not impressed with, because those people still have no clue... this goes same with evos, stis, any of those type of cars....

i am more into the stock hondas (not doing engine swaps) just running stock block built block but stock casting blocks than someone that spent a money to get something fast to start with.... this is just me, because most people have lost the old school hot rod style of building there cars from the stock platform.....

all i am saying is i would rather have my 02 neon se over an srt anyday.... i have more time invested in my car i could have bought two srts by now if i had been payed 50 dollars an hr... granted if i would of started with an srt i could of had alot higher number in the ending equasion... but i am not after the highest hp 2.4... i am after the highest hp 2.0.... LOL.

sorry for getting off topic... LOL

Some people have a passion for building the cars and some people just have a passion for speed. I am the latter.

I believe you respect your car so much more if you took the time and effort to make it your own. When you spend endless hours working on it you'll respect your car. Like dt for example his car has been torn down and slowly worked on for 2 years. When it gets done dt will love it more than just going and buying a srt4 or evo, etc.

BINGO smallblock.... and when i buy an evo, i will do the same to that as i did this car, lol..... if i have a passion for speed i will go by a enzo..... well that is at least what rich people do......

people have a passion for cars in general....... i guess it comes down to if u have money to pay for someone to do it, then have no clue about it, or build it urself...

prime example..... this guy at carlilse a few years back had a sign on his skyline r34...that said "100,000 dollars, a million lookers, yet no trophys".... i give the guy credit, because he had the money to spend on a car that was unique as hell in the states, but i give the guy one thing completly wrong... i asked him some questions on the engine of the car, he had no god damn clue what was going on under the hood of that thing, he kept saying well i would have to call someone and find out what size turbo is on it... shouldnt u know the basics of the car u drive??? the car was sick, dont get me wrong the guy was mad cool, he accually let me sit in it.... wouldnt let me drive it though (what an ***, LOL)
