Default Engine/tranny swap

For some reason it says in the haynes manual that the car gets lifted over the engine? So the engine comes out the bottom not the top. I've got everything taken off my engine(Harness, lines, etc) and it looks really tight in there...is it possible to lift it out the top? Anyone done this before on a neon?

all my buddies that have done a motor / tranny swap done it from the bottom. It will be a lot easier.

i did mine out the top... it was not to bad if u have everything off the block.... make sure it is tipped at an angle, tranny lower, and pull the hood off.. and it comes right out.... going back in is a trick however

I'd go out of the bottom.

That's what a forklift is for, sure makes changing the brakes easier anyways!
