not bad man, but i would put the cover back on the air box until you get a cai. otherwords you are just sucking in hot air.

 

I threw it away didnt expect to be needing it again lol.

 

Also for a CAI. Does it matter what brand I get? Cuz if I go for the cheapest CAI for like $50 and just adapt my K&N to the end will the result be the same if I got like a $200 CAI?

 

my 02 es has a tach and its an auto.lol but anyways i think it would still work fine as long as you make it stick.it wouldn't be the same because the piping is different but other then that you should be fine,

 

instead of starting a new thread i'm gonna bump kab's and ask another question, the intake box (i don't know what else to call it) would it be bad to take off the top and let it run like that, i tried that for a couple hours and it was much louder, but isn't the point of that box to make the air suction more direct? just wondering if that top to the box made a difference

 

yeah if u take the top of the box off it will make a little diff.but the perpose of a true intake on our neons is to run by the fender wall because itll get better air and colder air flow.
