Default high beams not working for neon

Hi,

I have a dodge neon 2000, and the highbeam just stopped working.
The highbeam light on the dashboard doesnt light up either when I try to turn it on.

Does anybody have things I could try out before bring it to the dealer?

Thanks for any help,
arthur

Check your fuses. You might of blown one. Does anything else not work?

I tried looking for the fuse for the high beams, but couldnt find it, I checked both
the inside and outside fuse box. I checked a couple of fuses that look like lights and those fuses were ok.

Do you know where the fuse would be located for the highbeams?

Thanks,
Arthur

hmmm..maybe the highbeam on your bulb blew?? not sure if that would cause the light in the dash not to work but maybe?

Have you tried other bulbs, just to see if possibly your high beams are burned out? The dash light that indicates your high beams are on could be burned out as well. So turn them on and look to see if they are indeed on.

chowyunfat2000,

There is a High Beam relay that activates the high beams, the turn signal switch (when pulled to activate the high beams) makes a ground connection on one of the relays terminals and thus closes the relay and the high beams turn on. The relay is probabally bad or the switch at the trun signal that operates the high beams is faulty. NOTE: If the high beam relay quits the high beams won't work nor will the light on the dashboard illuminate.

I have a Manual on CD for my 01. I'll double check tonight and re-post if I find something different.

Eric
