Help 2000 dodge neon doesnt start

ya i guess i need to take it somewhere thats not the dealer. they just expect me to give them 900$ to change my cam sensor and crank sensor and still cant tell me if my car will start once they did it

the light is only once when i put the key in then it turns off is that normal?

so my car backfired through the air intake so im guessing my timing belt sliped?

Turns off when you turn the car on? The CEL will come on if the key is in the on position, but the engine isn't running.

would a bad cam sensor cause the plugs not to spark?

From what I have read the engine will run in limp mode with a bad cam sensor but, it will not run with a bad crank sensor. Also check or swap out the auto shutdown relay. In 1st gen. Neon’s the auto shutdown relay cut power to the, fuel pump, injectors and spark. The second gen. also use an shutdown relay but, I can't find a schematic that shows how it's connected.
