Hissing noise under load
I have a 2001 Neon 2.0 Liter ES that just started to make a hissing noise when accelerating. I can only hear the noise when the engine is under load.

Do you have a CAI? How's the car running?

No CAI and besides the noise the car is running great. Any idea what is causing this?

Sounds like some sort of vacuum leak then? Check the PCV and vacuum lines for cracks.

I agree it sounds like an exhaust leak.
