sound like a good idea? and if so realistically what would be a good engine to do the swap with besides the srt4 2.4


i have a SXT 03 which i plan on swapping the engine

 

You could swap the 2.4 out of a stratus, with some work. Unless you where going turbo I cant see it being worth the swap.

 

Will the 2.4 from a stratus be a direct bolt into the neon? I imagine you would have to change over the PCM and other wirings.....right?

 

correct... the pcm and wiring will have to be changed over.... and it should be a bolt in, but i am not sure on the tranny.... i think u will need the tranny as well

 

Why wouldnt you want to do the SRT motor? Doesnt get any better than that one.

I guess. But Id hate to spend thousands of dollars to only get 50hp from another option. Idk.

Im sure everyone knows this anyway, but there are alot more of that same motor found on PT Turbos than on busted SRT neons. Maybe a junkyard?

 

u could also sell ur 03 sxt and use it to a srt 4 ..thats another option rather than sink some money in something that ur not prepared to go all the way as far as mods
