Default 04 neon sxt studdering

hello,
My car is running great but when I'm on idle at a stop light, the car
seems like it's going to stall. It never did stall but seems like it.
It also idles at about 550-600rpm which seems low.. but I don't know.

I recently changed air filter (basic air filter), I added new sparks plugs (NGK iridium), spark plug wire (napa-mileage plus), changed 2 belts and new battery. do oil changes as I should.
I also added fuel system cleaner last week-end..

The car have 50k miles, I got it used jan 2008.

Do you guys know what I could do to help that ?

Thanks,

when you find the solution let me know mine does this too. If you put it into neutral at stop signs and etc it will go back up to 800 though.

If you have access to a scanner you might check 02 operation. I have an 04 SE that started that and would die (it is an MTX) and I had to add throttle to keep it running mainly in the rain. I finally go an O2 code and it solved it. Also check into TPS and Map data.

If you have an ATX you can look into Trans data and see if anything odd there too. Could be a sticking (but slipping) torque converter clutch.

This is kinda a hit or miss issue with neon's. some of our neon's do it (like mine) and some of them do not. to my understanding there is no solution to this problem.

Thanks for the replies,
I'll take it to a garage friday to see what they say.
(I don't have any special tools or scanner ewetho.)
and I don't want to bring it at dodge because they would charge me
100$ for just checking it. And since I don't have any warning lights ON, I doubt their scanner would find anything..

I'm hoping cleaning the air sensor will help as I read online..
but it seems a lot of people have that problem..

I'll let you know if it get fixed

I replaced the basic napa "mileage plus" with the napa premium wires,
and it seem it's better now.

the premium wires are rated to be 180ohm which is supposed to be good
when reading the comparaison on moderneperformance.

the car had all time a little bit of studdering but after those bad wires,
it was worse.

I need to clean the air sensor too I think..
