Default SRT design hood scoop...

I just bought an SRT design, and I was wondering if there was a way to make the hood scoop functional. It looks like I could just cut out the part on the underside of the hood, but I was wanting to gather some opinions first. Has anyone done this?

it is functionable, but remove the insert and cut the platic turn downs out, flows a bit more air.

It looks like I could just dremel out that little indented area there. How do I get the plastic insert out?

Last question- does anyone have the specs on these cars, the SRT designs? Are they just SXTs with big spoilers or are there other differences? I can't seem to find anything on them.

correct, and to remove the insert see the two nuts right above the funkey u shape undo those and then the insert comes out. If your talking about making it a full ram air see the big round buldge off to the right of your pic, thats were you cut a hole into, it has a small hole already in it. but then you get the stock air box with the top removed and seal it up some how for when the hood is down. If you already have a cold sir intake system dont worry about it, unless you want to get a Y piece and another filter, seal a box and get two places for cold air, but dont think you want to do that. If you demel out thise spaces it will only cool the intake down a bit which could be useful but the platic ones that your guy have dont really get that hot do they?
