Default Brake Pads - "Export" vs. "Not Export"

Kragen and Autozone make no mention of this, but NAPA asks if the car is an exported model or not in regards to which pads are available. Anyone know what the deal is? Would it actually make a difference?

-I don't know anything about that. But I just changed the pads on mine last week with Friction Master ceramic pads from Advance Auto. $42 out the door.

Tips: Don't cheap out unless you want to hear squeeks later on. I noticed the ones with the copper colours strands in them don't squeek at all.

And I think Exported means they are chinesse, non exported means made in usa.

Edit: Or do you mean the car...in that case I think the guy behind the computer is a darsh

It says at NAPAonline and in the store. Each brake pad says export or non-export at the bottom of each listing. I don't think it is where the pad is made, but the car. They asked what the VIN started with in the store, so we figured I needed the non-export ones, but I just don't understand what difference it makes. Maybe I will just skip NAPA on this one...

Thinking those are ceramic pads? I think that is what I am going to go with anyways. The amount of driving I do in the Neon, I need a good pad that will last a while.
