2nd gen TURBO neon
Hey everyone
I have a 2003 dodge neon r/t (2.0 magnum). I have added a hahn turbo kit to it with:
-new clutch
-lighter flywheel
-boost controller
-cooler sparkplugs and wires
-and a device to retard the timing
And countless hours on the dyno making everything perfect. I am currently installing an AEM water/methanol injection kit to cool down my cylinders because they are VERY HOT. My mechanic tells me I am at my limits on the car because the cylinders are so hot and it might damage my STOCK internals. For right now I am keeping my stock internals until some more funds come in. So lets say rebuilding the engine is out of the question. I am currently running 13 psi and peaks at 15 initially. I have 225 whp and I am looking for MORE!! But from what I can find no one else has passed what I have done with keeping stock internals
MY BIG QUESTION: HAS ANYONE GOTTEN MORE WHP (225) THEN ME? PLEASE REMEMBER I AM USING STOCK INTERNALS AND WOULD LIKE INFO ABOUT THE SAME. It has to be any second gen neon that has kept its internals and not swapped to the 2.4
Please by all means brag about what you have done to beat me. I would like first hand knowledge/personal experience about what you have done and what boost and whp you were able to get without breaking the internals.
THANK YOU EVERYONE

225 is honestly probably the best you're going to get with stock internals, i'm suprised you're running 13-15psi stock internals. i guess the only real way to get going faster, would be a weight reduction of some sort i suppose...
But, you're pretty much going to need to get some better internals to go faster. If you can run more whp, i say bravo, but i wouldn't even try running on over 12 psi anymore until you rebuild that bottom end. just what i've read from here and 2gn.org.

what r u running for a fuel system? also 13-15psi peak? wow, if this is a true figure i am impressed, anyway. running that high of boost is why ur cylinders are getting very hot, i would suggest turning ur boost down just a litte, maybe like ten psi. seeings u have a dyno u can tune with, just a thought, unless u do not care if that block comes apart. what is ur air to fuel ratio set at now? what device are u running to retard ur timing? has anything been done to the head to prevent valve float? or u still running a stock rt head?
honestly i do not see how that block will last long at that high of boost. not saying u can not run 13 psi out of a stock 2.0 but i will bet u it will not last long at all.
graphite03 would help if he was still around..........
